Here is the issue I worked on while Interning at Dazed and Confused Magazine, as you can see highlighted above is my name finally in Print! It is such a satisfying feeling and makes all the hard work worth while! It is also a really kl issue the "Augmented reality issue" and an Interview with the lead star in Alice and Wonderland, there maybe a few copies left in the shops if you don't already have this month. The new issue will be hitting the new stand over the next week. I bought three of this issue, one for my mum, one for me and one for my portfolio :)

The Vintage Magazine shop
OK, so out and about London a few weeks ago I managed to pick up the May 2003 Dazed and Confused magazine and a January 1990's Cosmopolitan from Soho's Vintage magazine shop there is also another in Brighton which only sells movie memorabilia.
Anyone who's close to me knows that I'm pretty much obsessed with Pharrell Williams, for a variety of reasons, so this edition of Dazed pretty much for me definitely has to be a collectors edition for me, shame I was too caught up in glossy teen mags way back in 2003 to miss buying this the first time round.
I also thought I would really treat myself while I was there to the January 1990 editon of Cosmo, it is amazing to look back at the content and design to see how it has evolved.
Don't forget to check out the Vintage advertising posters!

My First Day : Dazed & Confused
My first day at Dazed & Confused Magazine was pretty good. My day began at 10.30 where I was greeted by a friendly receptionist. As I walked into the open plan office everyone were working hard on their Macs.
There seemed to be a laid back vibe to the office with most staff dressed casual but stylish which was cool. My outfit for the day was a grey fitted tailored dress worn with a skinny black patent belt, matching black tights & cardigan worn with my new bright purple ballet shoes. I'm pretty sure I was slightly over-dressed but I figured it was better to be over-dressed than under! I was then shown to my desk and was introduced to the editorial team; Sarah the Staff Writer, Tim the Deputy/Music Editor and the Editor, Rod.
I had previously met Rod at the 2009 Youth Media Summit, which I was able to attend with Interact Magazine. After the event, I went home and stayed up till working determinedly till 4a.m, re-designing my CV in Indesign and re-writing my covering letter.
The first task on my Internship was to transcribe an Interview. My desk is situated next to Tim’s who constantly plays new tunes, which is super cool as I get to listen to new prievously un-realised tracks while working for the next week. My second task was to check the magazine proofs, of which included checking for grammatical errors, spellings, puctuation errors and layout.
The final task of my day was to sort out the mail of both Dazed & Confused Magazine. This surfacely may have seemed like a tedious task but I actually had fun, despite having to sort through two large sacks. I got to also meet the other Interns from the other departments, one gave me a few “insider tips” he had previously spent time in my new position as Editorial Intern.
Overall I had a great first day, everyone were very friendly. I am looking forward to the rest of the week, who knows what will be in store for me next. Whatever it is, I cannot wait!
